The American ceramicist, designer and author Jonathan Adler sold his first collection of ceramics to the department store chain Barney’s in 1993. Five years later, he opened his first store in Manhattan’s SoHo neighbourhood. Today he runs a well-established design company with products that are synonymous with elaborate craftsmanship and luxury, yet never take themselves too seriously.
